Age 35, after exhibition in West-Berlin, at the peak of print-painting activity in Stockholm, when catastrophe came, backbone damaged.
Four weeks immobility. Print-Painting work ended thanks to new physical condition.

8th of December 1975, Stockholm, able to move again.
Brush and oils found on the shelf, five small canvasses in a corner (Jaroslaw artist was there before I came). Able to carry brush in my hand painted December Dream on the very first evening. Born again? Started another three paintings on that night.
Ten years later learned the symbolic meaning of painting - a circle within a circle means the first awakening (of consciousness). Painted many phases of the theme before I recognised the meaning. Four times (in eight years) on this very page!

Winter in Stockholm.
Painted up to fourteen hours a day. Came from West-Berlin with money which could last long if I were continuing prints. But! I was buying a new type of materials: stretches, canvasses, glue and primer, oil colours, brushes. Cash melting.

Soon rented a huge billiard room in a villa with four young musicians. There I painted first large canvas Come into the Light. Three months work, rich textures, unaccountable number of layers - oil paint mixed with a painting varnish and turpentine to create depth and transparency in my universe.
I repeated here - in spiral form - a theme of awakening. Not knowing what I did.
And I did long for knowing. For coming Christmas '75 bought me the very first book in the West: Lama Anagorika Govinda 'The Foundations of Tibetan Mysticism'. Does it ring a bell?

I had a big leather bag, very clever with a backside part, which was perfectly hidden. Soon I had no money at all - just in time when I needed lots of oils to paint rich structures. Went to the art shop and stole a hundred tubes oils paying just for one.
Don't worry, the karma takes it all!

Tunnel of Love is a shining version of the Come into the Light. Started in springtime 1977, painted over one year long. It's not that I have great demands. I simply see what is not right. I don't know how should it look like, therefore constant search, trying.
I was flying through many tunnels on my trips. Wait some years (I mean pages) and you will find an explanation. Just as I found my destination.
When I meditate looking at the star in the middle the painting starts pulsing - okay, that's what I intended - but then another image appear, in motion, looks like a sea of short waves of fire. Surprise, surprise. It is not an individual hallucination, others reporting same vision. Funny to see in my exhibition someone sitting in front of it and crying. What's that?

April 1976 exhibited in Polish Institute in Stockholm one hundred drawings, monotypes, print-paintings, oil paintings.
In a beautiful month May springtime explode in the north, within few days leaves on the trees grow green and flowers open.
I opened my exhibition in Gallery Blue.
Visited three galleries first week in Stockholm! The owner of the gallery just came from Barcelona, welcomed me heartily, compared my way with that of Max Ernst. Oh, I felt quite shy coming to gallery with Vasarely exhibition on walls and cabinet full of works from Picasso, Klee, Fontana and other legendary masters.
We agreed for exhibition in May.
Well there was a problem in May - I painted already twenty oil pictures and wanted to show them - but Mrs. Secretary kept on saying that an exhibition agreement was for print-paintings only. I exhibited what I wished. And sold in beautiful month of May all the large paintings.

Paid debts by friends, went to the shop where I stole oils wishing to pay, but the owners visited my exhibition and wished to have one small painting only. And gave me oh god so many paints for it!
Landlord of the villa where I painted offered me an atelier in another house, one year rent-free, for one painting. But! I was just packing things into my bus, wanting wishing desiring to move!

Drove to West-Berlin, painted two weeks in friend Christian garden. Went to Warsaw. Precise timing: friend Marek got atelier from state, having no means to pay for. I did - as a rent for next two years. Got me fifty stretches, lots of canvas and oil colours - always best: Rembrandt (Tallens, Holland), then quite timely fallen in love, started to paint. Good vibrations, atelier full of guests and friends coming to see the Cosmology unfolding.

Creation, my first large canvas started with a deep blue hole growing in the middle three months long. Only later understood that I just created a space for the light - which appeared soon and grew.
In about one year work 'Creation' seemed to be there, drying on the wall.
But there was night of no satisfaction - I thought my picture was too flat - took fifty tubes and squeezed oils on the top of the canvas, forming the hills, sculpturing them in heavy matter. Be sure - I needed six month more to bring order into that mess. Hundreds half-transparent layers of oil, rich textures for the light to play on. My dream was to have colours living / changing with every different light of the day. I realized that dream.

Seldom a painting comes within one session, like 'Demon and Girl'. Day and night and day it took. Special conditioning: people coming and going, red wine, green grass, great tensions of love, hate and death in the air.

I painted that oil picture, where Girl is stuck between the eyes of the Demon.
30 years later, feeling compassionate, I let her dance for a while.

Empty my Mind 1983

Empty my Mind - the circle motif appear again and again, in stages of development
- visual in painting, invisible in my consciousness, I suppose.

See how the motif has changed? The circle is empty.
Symbolically seen (two years after painting I understood what's there) it means a consciousness awakened. Lucky me! - that I didn't know while painting. It gave me a sense of wonder.


	Do you see my footsteps on the canvas? Every step here explodes in fire, from which the stars and worlds are born.
