Blades of Glory: Palette Knife Mastery in KNIFE STORY Series

The world of the Knife Story is a world of intensity and aggression, a microcosm ruled by microtime. Using the paint knife as my primary tool, I explore the full range of my artistic impulses, creating work that is both powerful and expressive.

Using a combinations of varnish, spray, enamel and printing inks on papers, I push my boundaries and explore new areas of creativity. These paintings are a testimony to my power to transform emotions and experiences into vivid and dynamic works that are both unique and timeless.

Schizophrenie, 1979, Original Painting 70 x 50 cm

Schizophrenie, an embodiment of the internal conflict and fragmented reality,

often associated with the condition it is named after. The monochromatic palette emphasizes the duality within a singular existence, where the splashes and drips are like the disjointed thoughts and emotions that characterize schizophrenia.

Each stroke and blot represents the unpredictable dance of the mind – an intricate choreography of clarity and confusion. The black ink, stark against the white, speaks to the isolating and stark nature of the mental landscape it seeks to portray. This painting, created with intuitive movements and the fluidity of printing inks, invites an empathetic understanding of the complexity of the human psyche.

The dark tones and stark white suggest a stark dichotomy between the purity of intent and the grim realities of war.
